50 Cents Rocks Mumbai

Bollywood beauties were present in full force to watch their favourite hip hop artist 50 cent perform in Mumbai, Priyanka, Amrita and Malaika grooved to 50 Cent hit numbers as Band member Curtis enthralled one and all with his moves. Arjun Rampal was also present with his wife Mehr Jessia.

They call him 50 Cent, and he brought the groove to Mumbai on Sunday, November 18.

The hip-hop superstar — easily the most current of the acts to hit India in recent times — did well to rock the house, but the house itself wasn’t as big.

Mumbai’s MMRDA grounds — still reeling from a Beyonce debacle which saw a ridiculous 2,000 person turnout — was clamped down to within a third of its size, and with tickets priced reasonably — Rs 1,000 being the most expensive — enough to seduce crowds heading into clubs likely to play songs from the rapper’s repertoire.

The result: About 4,000 odd fans — at generous estimate — but those who came had a helluva blast.
